Vandals damage Grant County black church

GRANT COUNTY, Ind. (WOWO): The Grant County Sheriff’s Department is looking for whoever spray-painted racial slurs and vulgar images on the side of a historically black church.

Sometime between July 10th and 11th, someone spray-painted the letters “KKK” as well as a racial slur and a crude vulgar drawing on the side of the Hilltop Chapel Church in Grant County. The church is located at the intersection of County Roads 250 West and 600 South.

It doesn’t seem that anything was taken from the church, nor was the interior damaged, like in a separate incident at a LaGrange County church last month.

If you know who’s responsible for this crime, contact Crime Stoppers at 765-662-TIPS. Information that leads to an arrest qualifies for a reward of up to $1,000.
