Man sentenced to 85 years in Easter murder

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): A Fort Wayne man was sentenced Friday morning for the shooting death of a 26-year-old man.

Tyrion McNair was sentenced to 65 years for murder and an additional 20 years for the use of a firearm, according to our Partners in News at ABC 21. He was found guilty in the murder of Javon Burnett on Easter morning outside the Summit at Ridgewood Apartments last year.

McNair was convicted in the shooting last month. Prosecutors say McNair shot Burnett 13 times in the shooting.

Joshua Smiley, 21, pleaded guilty last month to assisting a criminal and was sentenced to three years in prison.
