Judge rules Bauer violated CHS confidentiality

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): A judge in Tennessee has ruled that former Lutheran Health Network CEO Brian Bauer disclosed confidential information belonging to his former employer.

The ruling, handed down Monday, is a victory for Community Health Systems, Lutheran’s parent company. They claimed that Bauer and five others tried to drive down the Network’s value in order to pull off a takeover bid that ultimately failed, and CHS ended up firing Bauer, then suing him.

The News-Sentinel reports that while that part of the suit will continue, Bauer has been ordered to recover the network’s protected information and is banned from trying to entice Lutheran employees to work for Indiana University Health.

The judge also denied CHS’s request to bar Bauer from working with IU Health altogether, a decision that Bauer says he’s “tremendously gratified” about.
