FWPD searching for attempted bank robbery suspect, photo provided

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO) – Fort Wayne police are asking for the public’s help in identifying an attempted bank robbery suspect.

Just before 11 a.m., the suspect entered the bank, approached the teller and handed them a handwritten note demanding cash. The note also indicated that he was armed with a handgun.

The suspect was unsuccessful in robbing the bank, but was able to flee the scene before authorities arrived.

Police have provided a surveillance photo of the suspect, who is described as being between 5’6-5’8″ tall and weighing approximately 180 pounds.
