FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): A Fort Wayne Police officer is in serious condition after a crash that took place while en route to a crime scene.

Our partners in news at 21 Alive report that the officer was turning onto West Jefferson Boulevard from Liberty Mills Road around 12:45 p.m. when her squad car was struck by a red pickup truck. The officer then had to be extricated from the vehicle. She was taken to the hospital in serious condition.
