Extra $42 million Regional Cities award funding hits snag

INDIANAPOLIS (WOWO): Not so fast on a proposal to give an extra $42 million in Regional Cities funding to a third region.

That’s because the bill is apparently stuck in the Indiana Ways and Means Committee because it doesn’t have enough Republican votes to get out. GOP House Speaker Brian Bosma feels the Indiana Economic Development Corporation went around the legislature with the extra $42 million award.

The Journal-Gazette is reporting that Bosma feelss it’s possible the extra funding could be packaged into another bill like the road funding bill to make it easier to pass. Fort Wayne, South Bend, and Evansville were each awarded $42 million.
