Angola man pleads guilty of stabbing a Fort Wayne man to death in August

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): An Angola man accused of stabbing a man to death pleaded guilty to voluntary manslaughter Thursday in Allen Superior Court.

Jeremee K. Coney, 31, said he was “acting in sudden heat” in August when he stabbed Donald B. Jacquay, according to the Journal Gazette.

The stabbing happened inside Jacquay’s apartment in the 3400 block of Hanna Street in Fort Wayne.

Coney was originally charged with murder, felony murder and robbery in connection to the stabbing, but those charges will be dropped and Coney will be charged with voluntary manslaughter as part of a plea deal.

Coney will be sentenced in mid-March and faces a prison term of 10 to 30 years.
