“Walk and Learn” returns for another year

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): The annual “Walk and Learn” is returning with the Parkview Physicians Group.

The “MD & Me: Walk-n-Learn” is scheduled for Tuesday, May 17.  Dr. Mark O’Shaughnessy, a cardiologist with Parkview Physicians Group says, “Our program offers a unique opportunity for community members to connect with physicians while learning how to make healthier lifestyle choices.”

Events are scheduled for 6 p.m. on the following days, with registration beginning at 5:45 p.m.:

  • Tuesday, May 17: Dr. Peter Chaille, PPG – Cardiology, “How to Manage My Cholesterol Numbers”
  •  Tuesday, June 14: Dr. Mark O’Shaughnessy, PPG – Cardiology, “Men vs. Women: The Signs and Symptoms of Heart Disease”
  •  Tuesday, July 12: Dr. Ashley Bojrab, DPM, PPG – Podiatry, “Bunions: A Real Pain”
  • Tuesday, August 9: Dr. Ken Austin, PPG – Pain Management, “Living with Fibromyalgia”
  • Tuesday, September 13: Dr. Michele Helfgott, PPG – Integrative Medicine, “Pros and Cons of Vitamins and Supplements”
  •  Tuesday, October 11: Dr. Sachin Logani, PPG – Cardiology, “Keeping My Blood Pressure Under Control”

During the walk, community members are invited to ask questions specific to the topic from the presentation.

They also offer free blood pressure screenings and education materials.
