UPDATE: Missing 80-year-old man found, safe

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO) –

UPDATE: Mr. King was located around 2:15 p.m. Monday in the 700 block of Taylor Street. Comcast employees called 911 after recognizing him. He was transported back to his home and reunited with his family. 


Fort Wayne police are searching for a missing and endangered 80-year-old man.

Johnny James King was reported missing by his family at 7:25 a.m. Monday. He was last seen at his home in the 1000 block of E. Rudisill Boulevard near Gaywood Drive.

Mr. King is described as black, five feet tall and approximately 105 pounds. He has brown eyes and gray hair. He was last seen wearing a long-sleeved shirt with red stripes, blue jeans, tan work boots and a black hat.

Mr. King has been diagnosed with symptoms associated with Dementia/Alzheimer’s.

Anyone that has seen him, or knows of his whereabouts, is asked to call 911 immediately.
