UPDATE: Identity released for pedestrian struck, killed on East Pettit Sunday

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): A man is dead after being hit by a vehicle on East Pettit Avenue in Fort Wayne Sunday night.

According to the Journal Gazette, it happened at around 8pm near the intersection with Calhoun Ave. The man, who was found by police unresponsive and lying in the road, was pronounced dead at the scene.

He was later identified as Richard M. Papazian, 65 of Fort Wayne. The Allen County Coroner reports he died from multiple blunt force injuries. His manner of death was ruled an accident.

Police say the driver of the vehicle involved remained at the scene.
