Two wounded in shooting at Noblesville middle school

NOBLESVILLE, Ind. (WOWO): Two people are critically wounded after a reported shooting at a middle school near Indianapolis.

WISH-TV reports the shooter, a boy, is in custody after the incident, which happened just before 9 a.m. today at Noblesville West Middle School. Reports say the student asked to be excused from class and later returned with two handguns, opening fire.

Police were quickly on the scene and the school was placed on lockdown. Police requested more medical help on the scene shortly after the incident.

One victim is reportedly a 13-year-old girl. The other is a teacher, Jason Seaman, according to the Indianapolis Star.

Students have been moved to Noblesville High School.

Separately, there was an additional threat at Noblesville High School. Noblesville Police say they don’t believe the threats are tied together.
