Two veteran officers accidentally shot at Public Safety Academy Tuesday

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO) – Two veteran officers were accidentally shot during a training exercise at the Public Safety Academy Tuesday.

The academy is located on Patriot Crossing at Ivy Tech.

Our partners in news at ABC 21 report the victims are Fort Wayne Police Department veterans, and were assisting in the exercise.

Police report one officer was accidentally shot in the hand, and the bullet ricocheted, striking the second officer in his lower extremities.
