KOSCIUSKO COUNTY, Ind. (WOWO): Three people were hurt and a 17-year-old girl was killed in a four-vehicle crash along US 30 in Kosciusko County Monday morning.

Emergency personnel had to close US 30 just east of Warsaw at about 9:35am after a crash that started when a car driven by 17-year-old Kirsten Ganshorn of Walkerton tried to pass a pickup driven by a 68-year-old man from Warsaw. She clipped the truck, sending both vehicles into the median.

Ganshorn’s vehicle spun out-of-control and crossed the median backwards, slamming into a flatbed truck driven by a 49-year-old Larwill man. Ganshorn was ejected from her car and onto the roadway, while the flatbed ended up going into the path of an SUV driven by an 83-year-old Claypool woman.

Ganshorn was pronounced dead at the scene. A passenger in her vehicle, a 17-year-old from Argos, was airlifted from the scene in critical condition, as was the flatbed’s driver. The Claypool woman was taken to a Warsaw hospital for minor bruising.

The crash is still under investigation.

4:55 a.m.

Ashley Nicole Demont, 17 of Argos, Indiana, has been pronounced dead after originally being airlifted in critical condition.

Demont was a passenger in Ganshorn’s vehicle, who was pronounced dead at the scene.

Kosciusko County Fatal Team members state the crash is still under investigation.
