Two arrested in robbery at hotel

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): Two men are behind bars after a robbery early Wednesday morning at a hotel.

Police tell the Journal Gazette this was at the Ramada Plaza Fort Wayne Hotel and Conference Center at 305 E. Washington Center Road at around 3 a.m.

The victim told police he left the hotel to smoke when two men got out of a silver van and asked to follow him into the hotel.

When the victim started walking back in, he says one of the men put a gun to his head and took his cell phone and cigarettes.

Police later found the van at the Holiday Inn near Memorial Coliseum. Police say they arrested Isaiah Smith, 26, after a foot chase and found a “green leafy substance,” a lighter and a cell phone.

Meanwhile, the other alleged robber, Peter A. Henry, 22, ran from the van into the woods near the hotel before he was arrested.

Police also found a handgun in the van.

Charges are still pending.
