FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): The Three Rivers Festival Raft Race has been cancelled for 2018 due to ongoing Riverfront construction along the St. Mary’s River.

The Three Rivers Festival board of directors made the announcement Tuesday.

“Due to Riverfront construction restrictions, we have elected to postpone the Raft Race this year,” explained Jack Hammer, Executive Director of the Three Rivers Festival. “The Riverfront improvements, once complete, will create a more engaging event for both spectators and participants. Although we would love to see this staple event as a part of the 50th Three Rivers Festival, we are even more excited about how the event will grow with the completion of the Riverfront development.”
However, volunteers are still needed for this year’s festival. For more information, go to threeriversfestival.org or call 260-426-5556.
