UPDATED: Three dead in overnight shooting

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): Fort Wayne Police are putting together the pieces in an investigation of a triple homicide near downtown early this morning.

It started with reports of gunfire at 12:05 am, near the intersection of Harrison and Fourth Streets. When officers arrived they found a man lying on the ground at the intersection, suffering from a gunshot wound. He was taken to the hospital in critical condition but later died.

While police were investigating that scene, they got calls about a car that slammed into a parked vehicle on Fourth, just west of Wells Street, and found two more men, who had both been shot. They also succumbed to their injuries.

The Allen County Coroner’s office has identified those killed.  Devon Richards, 25 of Fort Wayne,  his cause of death was a gunshot wound to the head. Dernail Ivory Brown, 26 of Fort Wayne, cause of death was determined to be gunshot wound of the back. Breondon Devon Pinkston, 28 from Fort Wayne, cause of death was stated to be multiple gunshot wounds. These deaths make this years homicide count in Allen County to 24.

Detectives are asking that anyone with any information about this chain of events contact the Fort Wayne Police Department at 427-1222 or Allen County Crime Stoppers at 436-7867.
