Sweetwater’s GearFest 2016 is this weekend in Fort Wayne

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): Sweetwater is calling all music and audio lovers to Fort Wayne this weekend.

GearFest 2016 goers can experience a gear expo, entertainment events, a musicians’ flea market and musical demonstrations and it all begins at 9 a.m. Friday, June 17, at the Sweetwater campus in Fort Wayne.

GearFest, which is free, is open until 6 p.m. Friday and open again from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday.

Multiple musicians will perform and run workshops on five different stages during the two-day festival. Some of the featured guests include Jim Brickman, a Grammy Award winner; guitarist Andy Timmons; Styx drummer Todd Suchermnan; keyboardist Larry Dunn; and Queen Cora Dunham, who has been a drummer for Prince and Beyonce.

“We’re particularly proud that GearFest has such a reputation that it is now bringing people from literally all over the world to Sweetwater’s campus in Fort Wayne,” Sweetwater Founder and President Chuck Surack said.

There will be hourly giveaways where more than $90,000 of gear will be given away.
