FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO) – Ivy Tech Community College branches throughout Indiana will have financial aid professionals on hand to help aspiring students and their families fill out their Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) forms on College Goal Sunday.

The FAFSA application is free and also required for students to be considered for federal and state grants, scholarships and student loans for universities, colleges and vocational/technical schools.

College Goal Sunday is now in its thirteenth year and has helped more than 94,000 Indiana students and families complete their FAFSA form accurately and on time.  Deadline to file the FAFSA form in order to be eligible for Indiana financial Aid is April 15.

The event is on February 24 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Ivy tech Community College Fort Wayne Coliseum Campus located at 3800 Anthony Boulevard.  The Warsaw campus, located at 2545 Silveus Crossing, is another one to host the event as well as 38 other sites in Indiana.

The Indiana Commission for Higher Education indicates that programs like College Goal Sunday are showing a rise in the amount of single-parent Hoosier families that apply for financial aid.
