Heat indices in the upper 90s to around 100 are expected, with slightly cooler values on Thursday, according to the National Weather Service. Make sure to drink plenty of fluids and check your vehicle for kids or pets before locking the doors.
Slow moving showers and thunderstorms will be possible Wednesday, especially across northeastern Indiana into northwestern Ohio. Then more showers are possible across the entire area Thursday into Thursday night. Very heavy rainfall will be the main threat with localized low lying areas seeing some flooding.
