Son testifies in Fort Wayne trial of Mark Leonard

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): The week ended for the Bob Leonard trial with his son addressing the jury.

Justin Leonard took the stand on Friday as part of the ongoing trial of the Indianapolis house explosion trial in Fort Wayne. In Day 14 of the trial, Justin told the jury that a few days after the explosion, Mark called him and asked him to take some items that belonged to his uncle Mark.

21 Alive reports Justin looked into some totes and saw a photo of who he assumed was Monserrate Shirley. Justin, who is in jail for drunk driving charges, has a bench trial set for later this month in Hendricks County.

Bob Leonard is charged with murder, arson, conspiracy and other charges in the November 2012 explosion in that killed Jennifer and John “Dion” Longworth. Mark Leonard was convicted on the same 53 charges and sentenced in August to life in prison without parole.

Shirley has pleaded guilty to two conspiracy charges and faces up to 50 years in prison.
