WASHINGTON — Indiana Senator Todd Young delivered a strong rebuke to Donald Trump on Thursday, expressing his unwillingness to support the former president in his potential 2024 run for the GOP presidential nomination. Speaking to reporters in Washington D.C., Young made it clear that he would not back his fellow Republican in the upcoming campaign.
When asked about his reasons for withholding support, Young responded, “Where do I begin?” He highlighted Trump’s failure to vocalize support for Ukraine during the yearlong conflict following the Russian invasion as one factor in his decision. Young argued that President Trump’s judgment on this matter was flawed and cited concerns about the Russian government’s engagement in war crimes.
Young further expressed his doubts about Trump’s ability to unite people. He emphasized the importance of nominating a candidate who can win the general election, stating that Trump has a track record of losing not only his own elections but also elections for others. Young questioned whether it would be wise for conservatives to elect someone whose main skill appears to be engaging in Twitter battles.
When directly asked if he would support Trump if he secured the nomination, Young deflected the question by suggesting that Trump was unlikely to win. He stressed that Republicans are determined to win and implied that Trump’s nomination would lead to a path of defeat.
Senator Young, who was re-elected to a six-year term in 2022, has previously taken positions that differ from Trump’s on significant issues, including Trump’s call for Vice President Mike Pence to overturn the 2020 election results. It is worth noting that Young was not among the four Senate GOP incumbents endorsed by Trump for re-election, as reported by Politico.

Young is a RINO – Mitch McConnell puppet…and none of the RINOs support Trump. We need to clean house of All RINOs.
So, Senator Young, you are not supporting President Trump in the 2024 election. I must say that nothing convinces me more to vote for Trump than this. I’m pretty sure that most RINOS won’t be supporting the best policy President we’ve ever had.
Ukraine was the 1st thing on Todd’s mind out of the list of possibilities….. “failure to vocalize support for Ukraine” must be the calling card for Washington insiders. It has came out that Ukraine is a money laundering scheme for many Washington Politicians (why else would they impeach Trump over a Ukraine Phone Call. LOL), it appears that RINO Todd Young is in the Ukraine Scheme too. VOTE TODD OUT!!!
Todd Young voted against a bill to appoint an Inspector General of sorts over the Ukraine money. Why? His master McConnell did not want scrutiny into this. Texas introduced a bill to recall senators. We in Indiana need this tool too.
Before we have a primary. Before there is another viable candidate (the others that have announced are not viable in our circumstances) Toad Young decides who should be president. Look at the hit job CNN tried on him this week. They look like fools. This will enhance Trump not hurt him which was the CNN goal. How can a person be guilty of defamation by defending themselves?? Far too similar to the Kavanaugh sex accusations. Bongino says the CNN event secured the nomination for Trump. Toad Young the RINO is feckless and worthless. I wonder who is money-bagging him??? Does any real reporter have the cahones to go find out? Ukraine is the only issue he uses to decide against Trump??? Trump is correct on hundreds of issues.. The southern border is much more important that Ukraine to the United States. But the Toady virtue signals on a single issue. Can Toad articulate the US vital national interest being involved in Ukraine? Didn’t think so. Is Toady getting cash from a Ukrainian oligarch? If Toad Young is against it I am for it. It is more than obvious that Toady Young has been in DC far too long to represent the Hoosier State. I also address all my correspondence to Senator young with a “Dear Toad” salutation. Try it. I get a little tingle of joy in my fingertips as I type that word.

I agree with the sentiments expressed above. We need him voted out of office. Trump knows a rino when he sees one – and unfortunately Indiana sent a big one to DC. Certainly hope Indiana learned this lesson.
