FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): The founder of a popular restaurant chain with a location in Fort Wayne is accused of defrauding his investors.

Fort Wayne-based Nairamat Investments LLC has filed a federal lawsuit accusing Scotty’s Brewhouse founder Scott Wise into spending $300,000 on a restaurant in Carmel with no intention of any return on that investment. He’s also accused of overestimating the franchise’s sale price, according to the Journal Gazette.

Wise denies the accusation, saying the chain experienced financial difficulties that affected all of its investors, and adding that they were not misled and knew all of the risks.
