FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO):  The purchase of the property located at 3000 E. Coliseum Blvd. was approved by the Purdue University Board of Trustees.  The building is 77,000 square feet on 13 acres of land.   According to the News Sentinel, the approved purchase price was $3.85 million.  This will allow Purdue University to expand across Coliseum Boulevard.

The building, located just south of the main campus, formerly housed Brown-Mackie College. Purdue University Fort Wayne Chancellor Ronald E. Elsenbaumer stated “The condition and location of the building and the land are a perfect fit for our institution.”  The building will need minimal renovation and has around 565 parking spaces.

The university is hoping to use the building to create a new space for the Richard T. Doermer School of Business.  They are also hoping to add a new Career Services Center, the Office of Development, the Office of Communications and Marketing, the Small Business Development Center, the Division of Continuing Studies, and the Wellness and Health Center to the new south campus.  They will also have pedestrian access via the new Parker Cole Crossing Bridge which crosses Coliseum Blvd. which is set to open in the spring.  The University is also hoping to offer shuttle service.
