FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): The City of Fort Wayne’s is facing a legal battle due to its plans for riverfront development.
The owners of riverfront properties that are under threat of eminent domain are suing the city, according to The Journal-Gazette.
The city wants to condemn two buildings owned by Ream-Steckbeck Paint Company and a third building owned by Cambray and Associates. The city made offers for the buildings, the owners rejected, and now the city says they’ll be razed for a new city park that includes an enclosed pavilion to connect to Headwaters Park.
Allen Circuit Judge Thomas Felts Tuesday scheduled a two-day November trial.
