Police arrest two, find weapons in gang raid

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): Two Fort Wayne women were arrested recently after a raid by the Fort Wayne Police Department’s Gang and Violent Crimes Unit.

Police say they served a search warrant on March 11th in the 3000 block of Holton Avenue, a few blocks east of Weisser Park Elementary School, based on an ongoing criminal gang, narcotics and weapons investigation. They found marijuana, narcotics paraphernalia, two handguns, one of which was reported stolen, a shotgun, an AK-47 style rifle, an M-14 style rifle, and ammunition for all the weapons.

43-year-old Melissa Bennett and 23-year-old Breonna Bennett were both arrested on marijuana and “maintaining a common nuisance” charges.
