FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO) – Around 8:15 p.m. Tuesday night, detectives from the Fort Wayne Police Department Gang & Violent Crimes Unit executed a search warrant on the 3300 block of McKinnie Avenue.  The address was known to the department as a criminal street gang home. The warrant was issued due to neighbor complaints, surveillance, traffic stops, shots fired in the home and the recent shooting at the gas station across the street.

As detectives searched the home they found 13 people, some were children. 3 loaded handguns were located, one of which was within reach of a child.  Officers also found ammunition, paraphernalia and about 500 grams of marijuana.

Deshannon Shelton, 33, was charged with felony possession of marijuana. Additional charges are pending.  The incident remains under investigation.
