New jobs coming to New Haven

NEW HAVEN, Ind. (WOWO): Officials with Canadian-based automotive supplier Multimatic  have plans to open shop at the old Vera Bradley Factory and plant officials are looking to hire 170 employees.  The old Vera Bradley Factory is located on Adams Center Road.

While Multimatic HAS NOT filed any official paperwork yet with the city of New Haven, Mayor Terry McDonald tells our partners in news at ABC 21, he’s still excited about the possibilities.

“It’s something we talk about at city hall all the time, something we talk about at GFW all the time, it’s something we talk about just even having breakfast with Chamber of Commerce members is having good quality employees,” said McDonald.  “And our area is very blessed to have a lot of good high-skilled employees.”

Multimatic will invest $25 to $40 million into the plant, including all new equipment that’s being set up and configured right now.

Plant officials will be looking for manufacturing engineers and production operators to design and produce components for the launch of a new vehicle.  The jobs are said to offer competitive pay and benefits.
