Memorial Coliseum in talks to host indoor football league

(WOWO 1190 AM 107.5 FM)

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): Indoor football might soon return to Fort Wayne.

Randy Brown, General Manager of the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum, tells the News-Sentinel that he’s having discussions with the National Gridiron League this week.

The league starts play in March, with 12 teams planned, and Brown says the league’s structure involves a single owner with potential local investors. Players will make about $20,000 for a 16-game season, and teams are already set for 8 other cities.

Fort Wayne last had an indoor football team, the Firehawks, in 2010.
