FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO) – Medical Informatics Engineering (MIE) has signed a letter of intent to locate some of its future northeast Indiana operations at Electric Works.

Plans include an advanced research and development center, as well as a state-of-the-art “virtual presence” training center.

MIE has been headquartered in Fort Wayne since the company was launched in 1995. The company was created to facilitate electronic data exchanged between Northeast Indiana hospitals, physicians and other healthcare providers. MIE has developed one of the first web-based electronic health record applications, as well as electronic patient engagement and occupational/employee health software.

Electric Works previously announced Parkview Health as an anchor tenant for the West Campus, and has also announced a letter of intent with Indiana Tech.
