Man critical after Saturday night shooting

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): Fort Wayne police are investigating a shooting at a hotel that left a man in critical condition Saturday night.

According to an FWPD press release, officers were called to the Hallmark Inn at 3730 E. Washington Blvd at 11:10pm by a woman who told police her boyfriend had been shot. She immediately hung up, and when police arrived they couldn’t find a victim, but did find blood.

About 13 minutes later a local hospital called police about a victim who had just arrived, suffering from gunshot wounds. Police were able to contact him and he’s currently being interviewed by detectives.

The shooting happened inside one of the hotel’s rooms. Police are processing the scene, collecting evidence, and trying to set up interviews with potential witnesses.
