Man accused of Texas Roadhouse shooting has trial date

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): A man charged with murder has a trial date scheduled for next year.

Andrew Cassaday, 29, is accused of shooting Jeff Lute, 28, to death on Aug. 14 at Texas Roadhouse. Cassaday’s trial is set for Jan. 10, 2017, according to our news partners at 21Alive.

Cassaday is charged with murder and possession of a firearm without a license.

Police were called to the Texas Roadhouse on West Washington Center Road at about 9:38 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 14. When officers arrived, they found Lute dead in the parking lot. Another man was hospitalized in critical condition. He was suffering from gunshot wounds.

Lute is the 23rd homicide victim in Allen County in 2016.
