FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): A man arrested for the 1988 murder of a Fort Wayne girl wants his trial moved out of Allen County.

59-year-old John Miller has filed a motion in Allen Superior Court asking for a change of venue, but online court records don’t say why.

Miller was arrested back in July, a little more than three decades after the body of 8-year-old April Tinsley was found in a ditch in DeKalb County. He was eventually caught thanks to a combination of a genealogy database and existing DNA evidence.

The Journal Gazette says he confessed when arrested. His trial is set to begin in February. He’s pleaded not guilty.
