FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): Last week’s three-game series in South Dakota was a good one for the Fort Wayne Komets, as the team picked up two wins against the Rapid City Rush, earning four points and improving to 5-6-0 on the season.

It was the Komets’ first trip to Rapid City since 2016. Fort Wayne won Wednesday and Saturday night’s games but lost Friday night 4-2. The two teams will meet again one more time this season, February 2nd in Fort Wayne.

Returning Komet and last season’s MVP, Shawn Szydlowski, picked up where he left off by picking up five points – all assists – in his first three games back with the team this season.

The Komets’ road trip isn’t over yet, as they head to Cincinnati to take on the Cyclones Friday night, and Toledo to face the Walleye on Saturday. The Komets will be back in Fort Wayne on Thanksgiving night for the Bob Chase Memorial Game, which will also be a fundraising night for WOWO’s Penny Pitch effort.

Hear Komets hockey all season long on WOWO.
