Indiana Pacers player Ty Lawson scheduled to be sentenced

DENVER (AP): Indiana Pacers guard Ty Lawson is scheduled to be sentenced Tuesday for a drunken-driving case in Colorado.

He faces up to 180 days in jail after pleading guilty to driving while ability impaired and a lane violation. He had been scheduled to be sentenced Monday but the hearing has been delayed until Tuesday morning.

The Indiana Pacers signed the point guard earlier this year despite his troubled past. He used to play for the Denver Nuggets.

In January, when Lawson was with the Houston Rockets, he was suspended for three games without pay for a drunken-driving case in California.

Lawson has missed five games because of a sprained left foot but the Pacers hope he’ll be able to play Monday night against Philadelphia at home.
