Huntington man dies in Grant County crash

GRANT COUNTY, Ind. (WOWO): A 54-year-old man is dead after a fiery crash in Grant County Thursday night.

According to the Indiana State Police, Monty Taylor of Huntington was southbound on State Road 5 near State Road 22 at about 7:06pm when his car drifted into the northbound lanes, hitting an SUV nearly head-on, and also crashing with a northbound pickup truck.

Taylor’s vehicle then caught fire, and first responders were unable to rescue him.

The 36-year-old driver of the SUV and the 18-year-old driver of the pickup were both taken to an area hospital, as was a 9-year-old boy who was a passenger in the SUV. Their conditions were not released.

Police are still investigating the crash.
