STEUBEN COUNTY, Ind. (WOWO): Since Saturday afternoon, there have been major power outages in Indiana and Michigan including Steuben County. IAP has reported that two major structures in their distribution network are down. IAP is unsure when power will be restored. The outage mainly covers Southeastern Steuben County.

As of 9:00 p.m. Saturday, the Metz Fire Department, located at 7995 E. Metz Road, will be open to the public as a warming station and medical device charging station. At 12:00 a.m. Sunday morning, The Town Hall in Hamilton will be open to the public also as a warming station and a medical device charging station. Residents in both areas can charge up their medical devices and warm up until their power is restored.

Residents who are on oxygen are asked to call their oxygen supply company to have spare oxygen cylinders delivered to their home as fire, police and EMS do not carry spare tanks. If residents feel as if they will run out of oxygen before their next delivery, then they are asked to go to the hospital until their oxygen company can deliver to their home.
