High water update for Allen County

ALLEN COUNTY, Ind. (WOWO) – Heavy rain has caused high water on roadways throughout Allen County.

As of 2:20 p.m., the Allen County Highway Department reports the following roads affected by high water due to heavy rain:

  • River Road from Madge Avenue to Prize Street (new)
  • Ellison Road from Branstrator Road to Liberty Mills Road
  • Maples Road from Fackler Road to Wilson Road
  • Paulding Rd. from Moore Road to State Line Road
  • Wilson Road from Hoffman Road to Maples Road
  • Maples Road from Grotrian Road to the intersection
  • Minnich Road from Maples Road to Tillman Road
  • Yoder Road from SR 1 to town of Yoder
  • Bryie Road from SR 205 to Wesley Chapel Road
  • Parrott Road from Hartzell Road to Maplecrest Road
  • Ellison Road from Branstrator Road to Liberty Mills Road
  • Paulding Road from Morgan Road to State Line Road
  • Grissamer Road from Wesley Chapel to US 33
  • Griffen Road from Auburn Road to Hollopeter Road
  • Cook Road from Butt Road to Felger Road
  • Fogel Road from County Line Road to McComb Road

As of 1:20 p.m. Wednesday, the following roads are affected:

  • Ellison Road from Branstrator Road to Liberty Mills Road
  • Maples Road from Fackler Road to Wilson Road
  • Paulding Rd. from Moore Road to State Line Road
  • Wilson Road from Hoffman Road to Maples Road
  • Maples Road from Grotrian Road to the intersection
  • Minnich Road from Maples Road to Tillman Road

  • Bryie Road from SR 205 to Wesley Chapel Road

EARLIER: As of 8:15 a.m. Wednesday, the Allen County Highway Department reports the following roads are affected:

  • Parrott Road from Hartzell Road to Maplecrest Road
  • Ellison Road from Branstrator Road to Liberty Mills Road
  • Paulding Road from Morgan Road to State Line Road
  • Grissamer Road from Wesley Chapel to US 33
  • Griffen Road from Auburn Road to Hollopeter Road
  • Cook Road from Butt Road to Felger Road
  • Fogel Road from County Line Road to McComb Road
  • Bryie Road from SR 205 to Wesley Chapel Road

Motorists are advised to avoid these roads, and drive with caution.

Residents are also asked to avoid rivers at this time, even in a boat. The currents are dangerous and rivers are filled with fast-moving debris.

The Highway Department’s South Barn is offering free sand and sandbags, which are available anytime until further notice inside the salt storage units at the south facility (8317 East Tillman Road).

Sandbags are available on a first-come basis, and you need to bring your own shovel.
