Henry County Jail inmate dies of multiple injuries

NEW CASTLE, Ind. (AP): Coroners say a central Indiana jail inmate has died of multiple injuries.

The Marion County Coroner’s Office said Monday that 32-year-old Brian L. Gosser died of multiple blunt force trauma injuries.

Gosser died Friday in an Indianapolis hospital after being transferred there from the Henry County Jail in New Castle.

Henry County Prosecutor Joe Bergacs on Monday told The (Muncie) Star Press the county’s major investigations team was looking into Gasser’s death but said he could release no details. The team includes local and state police officers.

The New Castle man was arrested Feb. 17 on drunken driving charges. A Henry Circuit Court hearing was scheduled for Monday morning on Gosser’s request for a reduction of his $12,000 bond or to be released on home detention.
