FWPD receives multiple calls reporting gunshots at bus stop Monday

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO) – Police are investigating after receiving reports of gunfire near a bus stop Monday afternoon.

Our partners in news at ABC 21 report the Fort Wayne Police Department received a call just before 5 p.m. Monday in which the caller reported hearing gunfire and kids screaming in the area of Winter Street and Colerick Street.

Another caller reported a person got off of a Fort Wayne Community Schools bus and started shooting before running away.

Police found several students at the intersection upon arrival. They also found 12 shell casings on Colerick Street just east of Reed Street, but no weapons.

The incident is still under investigation.
