FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): The City of Fort Wayne is moving forward with the eminent domain process on three riverfront properties.

The Parks Board’s attorneys have filed suit against three property owners, after they refused to sell downtown buildings that are in the way of the city’s plans for a park.

The Journal Gazette reports the city made offers of $818,000 for two of the buildings and $447,000 for the third, but is now seeking to get the buildings condemned and torn down. There should be a ruling on the case within the next three months.

The park the City wants to build is supposed to be the launching point for a big riverfront development effort.

Unbelievable. Willing to violate property rights so they can build a park. Absolutely unbelievable.
