Brooks was a vice president and general counsel for Ivy Tech for five years before being elected to Congress in 2012.
Brooks had been considered a potential candidate to lead Indiana’s community college system, a position which Republican Lt. Gov. Sue Ellspermann is leaving office to pursue.
Brooks tells The (Anderson) Herald Bulletin that she loves what she’s doing and is focused on her re-election campaign for central Indiana’s 5th Congressional District seat.
The Ivy Tech board has set a March 15 application deadline for the president’s position and expects to make a selection by the end of April.
Brooks was born in Fort Wayne and is a graduate of Homestead High School.
