FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): Fort Wayne Mayor Tom Henry has received a national award.

The Mayor’s Office announced yesterday that Henry has been presented with the 2019 National Environmental Achievement Award for Local Public Service by the National Association of Clean Water Agencies.

The award is given to public officials at the local, state and federal levels of government who demonstrate exemplary commitment to service in their community and protecting the environment.

Officials cited Henry’s efforts in the methane power generation program, riverfront development projects, and updates to the city’s aging infrastructure and water systems.
