FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): A man accused of attempted murder was in court on Friday. He is now charged with dealing drugs.

Willie Amos was charged with attempted murder and unlawful possession of a firearm in August. When he appeared in court on Friday, he was also charged with dealing in a controlled substance, a level 2 felony, according to the News-Sentinel.

Police say when they severed a search warrant on his SUV, they found 40 grams of methylendioxymethampthetamine (MDMA), a cellphone and a mason jar with a weedy substance inside.

On Wednesday, Aug. 24, a woman called police and said someone was chasing her car and shooting at her.

Police say Amos started chasing the woman from the 400 block of Lenox Avenue. He rear-ended her vehicle near the intersection of Harrison Street and Lexington Avenue.

Her car was pushed over a curb and Amos started shooting at her, according to police. Witnesses say she was able to get away, but Amos kept ramming the back of her vehicle. This kept happening until they both crashed.

Amos ran away, but police caught him, found a handgun and arrested him, according to police.
