Our partners in news at ABC 21 report the victim was Jason’s mother, Joy Steiss. The Allen County Coroner is still working on determining her exact cause and manner of death, but police believe she was beaten and strangled.

Court documents reveal when police arrived to the scene, Jason reportedly told them, “I murdered my mother.” He also allegedly asked to “be put down” so he wouldn’t hurt anyone else.

Jason reportedly told police he attacked his mother by biting, hitting, punching and choking her.

Jason’s father also reported to police, stating he got a video call from Jason shortly after the incident where he said, “I hurt my mom, hurt her real bad, blood all over, please help.”

Jason is set to appear in court on October 30 for a hearing.
