FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): The Fort Wayne City Council restored the City Clerk’s budget last night.

Back in October the Council withheld 75%, more than $414,000, of the Clerk’s Office’s 2016 budget due to questions about how well the money was being spent. Those questions came about after a video surfaced apparently showing former Clerk Sandy Kennedy illegally electioneering.

The Journal Gazette reports that the Council was also encouraged by new Clerk Lana Keesling’s move to cut several thousand dollars from a line-item for postage stamps, while adding cash to the training and development and legal fee funds, and taking steps to collect almost a million dollars worth of outstanding citations dating back to 2010.
