FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): A Fort Wayne lawyer is standing by advice he gave a former Navy SEAL concerning a book written about the death of Osama bin Laden.

Kevin Podlaski and the law firm he used to work for, Carson Boxberger, are listed as defendants in a suit brought by Matthew Bissonnette. He claims that Podlaski wrongly told him what he could and coult not write about his part in the 2011 raid on bin Laden’s compound in Pakistan, and that led to the Department of Defense shutting it down before it hit shelves. He’s suing for $8-million in lost income, damage to his reputation and among other costs.

The Journal Gazette reports that both Podlaski and Carson Boxberger say he was warned about releasing classified info, deny all of his allegations, and add that he was given enough notice of any problems with the book to stop it from being published. The two also say they told Bissonnette to submit the book to the government for review, but he didn’t listen.
