NEW HAVEN, Ind. (WOWO): A former New Haven volunteer firefighter is facing multiple charges for a relationship with a minor.

Our Partners in News at ABC 21 say Jacob Ruch, 28, met the victim, 15 via the SnapChat app in January 2018.

Ruch developed an online relationship with the victim, sending lewd photos back and forth. They eventually had a sexual encounter at the victim’s parents’ living room while they were sleeping.

Ruch resigned from his volunteer firefighter position at the New Haven Fire Department a few months ago.

He is facing two counts of sexual misconduct with a minor, child solicitation, and dissemination of matter harmful to children.

He has a court hearing on January 30.
