ALLEN COUNTY, Ind. (WOWO): Officials with the Allen County Treasurer’s Office want to remind taxpayers that fall property taxes are due Thursday.

Postmarks with the Nov. 10 date are accepted as “on time” payments. Those payments can be mailed to: Allen County Treasurer, PO Box 2540, Fort Wayne, IN 46801-2540.

Several other payment options are also available; electronically through the Treasurer’s website, by credit card, payments can be dropped off in the Child Support drop box on the south end of the courthouse, or pay in person at the Treasurer’s office: Suite 104 of the Rousseau Centre, 1 E. Main Street. You can also pay by phone by dialing-1-877-690-3729 and using jurisdiction code 7693.

“Long lines and long wait times can be avoided by paying early,” said Chief Deputy William Royce. “We move the lines as quickly as we can but paying early, by mail or using one of our online payment methods is the quickest way to pay.”

Keep in mind that this year the Nov. 10 tax due date is followed by Veterans Day on Friday and the Treasurer’s office will be closed.
