Eight safely escape Fort Wayne house fire

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): Three adults and five children were able to get out of a house damaged by a fire Saturday afternoon.

According to the Fort Wayne Fire Department, crews were called to the 1900 block of McKinnie Avenue, a couple of blocks east of South Anthony Blvd, for a fire that started in a bedroom on the home’s second floor and had filled the entire floor with smoke.

It was brought under control with no injuries. The cause of the blaze hasn’t been released yet, and the fire is still under investigation.
