Easter morning shootings leave two dead

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): It was a bloody Easter Sunday in Fort Wayne after a pair of fatal shootings.

First, police were called to a home in the 3000 block of Abbott Street, just northwest of the Diplomat Apartments, at about 5am to find a man down at the scene. He was pronounced dead at the scene, as the victim of an apparent shooting, though police do stress that there is currently little to go on as to the victim’s identity and how he died.

Then, 5 hours later, police were called to The Summit at Ridgewood Apartments on reports of gunshots and screams. They found another male victim, this time lying on the ground between two apartment buildings, also having been shot.

If you know what happened in either case, contact FWPD detectives at 427-1201 or call Crime Stoppers and report anonymously at 436-STOP.
